Ideal location in the heart of Chenonceau, with parking on site. We enjoyed a swim in the pool after a long day's drive. The hotel has a relaxed ambience and much character. Our room was fine, with quirky turret above! Breakfast was good value. We stayed on a Tuesday when the hotel restaurant is closed, but we had a good evening meal at one of two restaurants just across the street.
Breakfast could have been even better with wider variety of cereal and fruit.
It is very nice, perfect location to visit the castle.
The breakfast is expensive compared to the room rate.
None of the above categories. Sightseeing.
Location for Chateaux. Friendly owner/staff. Not a luxury hotel, but clean, well appointed, comfortable and charming.
This was one of the nicest hotels that we have stayed in. We have been to France 5 times. Sabine and Thierry were excellent owners, nothing was too much trouble. I fell ill during the night, Sabine organised a dr's appointment for me. Their restaurant was very good. We are sorry that we only had a stopover. Walking distance to Chateaux.
The hotel and staff were excellent. The restaurant and chef were outstanding!! The location near the Chateau de Chenonceau was also wonderful.
Central for the Chateau of the Loire
The location was lovely and the staff were very friendly
Getting into the car park was not so easy. The ramp was steep and the car places were quite small given the small area to turn the car.
A lovely country hotel yards from the Chateux
Only stopped one night so could not really say
In summary well beyond our expectations - french hotels can sometimes tend towads being "dated" but La Roseraie perfect in every respect. Rooms lovely, cleaned daily, fresh laundry, breakfast (at extra cost) continental and excellent in very peaceful surroundings. A lovely terrace for meals and drinks. The proprietors were second to none in their professionalism and friendlinss. It was very noticeable that they had adequate staff and were not having to be hands on themselves and were always there just available as the proprietors. We will not hesitate to go back if we are in that area and have friends who we know would love to stay at La Roseraie. In all an excellent choice
Central location - ideal for visiting the chateau.
The restaurant only had a €29 set dinner and the cheapest bottle of wine was €31. This was expensive especially as we were not very impressed with the standard of thr food.
centre of village , walking distance of Chateau , staff pleasant enough.
rather tired hotel , restaurant closed Tuesday evening (our day) we were not informed of this prior to arrival. room spacious but cluttered...difficult to open windows for fresh air..evidence of dust mites..
Proximity to Chenonceaux Pretty village Attractive hotel Good breakfast
restaurant closed and few alternative places to eat/socialise out of season
The first room we were offered was small and dreary, with tired decor with no concessions to comfort. We had booked for two nights, but after one night in that room decided to move to another hotel. When we told the owner she immediately (and graciously) put us into a much better room, which was much more spacious and comfortable. It may be that the website initially booked us into the cheapest room in the hotel. Dinner in the restaurant was pretty average.
A lovely Hotel with very friendly Staff. The only Hotel where we were helped with our luggage to our room. The Dinner and Breakfast were very expensive - especially the wine - but excellent. we had the biggest bathroom we had ever seen!! Good car parking
The inn keeper was really nice and went out of her way to be helpful after we arrived too late for our dinner reservations. She brought us a bottle of wine and a basket of bread which was delightful for our first night in France. Wonderful big room and bathroom.
The drape rather than a door on the bathroom
